Gone

Our year in Ecuador is over. We are missing our lives in Quito and starting our new old lives in Baltimore. It has been an exciting adventuresome year, we have all experienced much that is new and life changing, and I have no doubt that we will be back again.

Thanks to all who read and commented on my blog, I appreciate the input.

  2. I've never seen such a detailed and dedicated blog anywhere else on the web. You posted every single day, and never with just a line or two.

I enjoyed reading your entries while I was also living in Quito, and since I've been back in the US, your blog has allowed me to stay in touch with the city in ways that otherwise would not be possible.

Anyway, I truly applaud and thank you for your efforts, and I hope that you and Maya will one day far in the future be able to look back on this record of your lives in Ecuador.

    Excellent effort!

  5. Hello there.

I'm an Ecuadorian living (as many others) away, I really enjoyed reading your impressions over my home city, it made my laugh, miss it and even cry a bit, while remembering my dear city's blue sky, snowcaped volcanoes, and yes the ice creams downtown.

I really miss it and hope, like yourself, I'll come back soon.

Thanks for giving my city a shot, it can be crowded and chaotic at times, but it has a very special soul that I have learnt to appreciate through the distance.

Thanks once again for making me look at it with a different pair of eyes, yours.

    Andres.

  6. Hello, My daughter and I are moving to Ecuador in June 2011. I've just stumbled upon your blog and can't stop reading. Would you be open to speaking with me about your experiences...neighborhoods to live in, etc? I'll be working in Quito and will need to secure a nanny for my daughter. Any information that you might have on securing domestic help would also be appreciated.

    Regards,
